Commercial Lead – Training Services

The role

You will act as the primary commercial interface for training clients across public and private sectors, building long‑term, trusted relationships and positioning EEI as the partner of choice for high‑quality, compliant RPAS training solutions. The role is accountable for driving new business, developing commercially robust proposals, and maintaining a strong, forward‑looking sales pipeline aligned to EEI’s growth strategy. Working closely with training, operational and subject‑matter experts, you will ensure training services are scoped, priced and delivered effectively, balancing customer value, delivery capacity and commercial performance. This is a commercially focused role with ownership of revenue, margin, governance and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial development of EEI’s Training Services portfolio, including consultancy, regulatory support and assurance services.
  • Own and manage client relationships from initial engagement through to contract award and delivery, acting as the primary commercial interface.
  • Shape, price and negotiate commercial proposals, ensuring clarity of scope, appropriate risk allocation and sustainable margins.
  • Work closely with training SMEs to ensure bids, proposals and commercial documentation are compliant, accurate and commercially sound.
  • Provide commercial leadership on regulations, such as SORA, ensuring services are commercially constructed to be positioned and delivered in a controlled manner.
  • Build and manage a qualified commercial pipeline, identifying new opportunities, market trends and routes to growth within the RPAS sector.
  • Identify, assess and manage commercial risk, escalating issues and recommending mitigation strategies where required.
  • Represent EEI commercially at client meetings, industry events, regulatory forums and exhibitions.
  • Ensure all commercial activities align with EEI’s governance, Safety Management System (SMS) and compliance frameworks.

Essential

  • Experience in a commercial, business development or client‑facing role within RPAS, aviation or a similarly regulated training environment.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, with experience in pricing, negotiation, margin management and commercial decision‑making.
  • Understanding of systems approach to training methodology and its commercial implications for clients.
  • Experience working alongside Safety Management Systems (SMS) or regulated training frameworks, such as ATOs.

Desirable

  • Track record of delivering revenue growth and building new business lines
  • Drone regulations (e.g., CAA or equivalent aviation authority frameworks)
  • Training accreditation and certification environments
  • Experience of training program development
