Expression of Interest – sUAS Training Instructor

Eagle Eye Innovations Ltd is seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals interested in supporting the delivery and development of high-quality sUAS training programmes across various locations including Lincolnshire, the North East, South West and South Coast of England.

This opportunity is suited to individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

sUAS instructional and/or operational delivery
sUAS technical expertise
Training assurance and validation
Safety and airworthiness awareness

The successful individual will support the delivery of a mix of:

Classroom-based instruction
Synthetic/simulator training
Live flying instruction

Training activity may include the development of remote pilots, sensor operators and other sUAS personnel, with a focus on the safe, effective and compliant operation of uncrewed aircraft systems.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

Relevant sUAS operational and/or instructional experience
Strong communication and presentation skills
A commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence
The ability to work within established training and quality frameworks
A valid GVC and/or RPC-L1 Part A and Part B qualification
Experience conducting Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations
Experience operating within Defence, aviation or other safety-critical environments is desirable

Desirable Experience

Military or civilian flying training experience
Instructional qualifications
Experience developing training material and assessments
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including UK CAA, SORA or equivalent authorisation processes
Experience supporting training assurance, validation or standardisation activities
Experience operating within complex BVLOS environments and supporting BVLOS training delivery

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of elements of the roles, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.

You need to have an RPC-L1 Aeroplane qualification to begin this course, as this will build upon the fundamentals of fixed wing flying to convert you to type on our impressive DeltaQuad Evo RPAS. What’s more, you will also learn how to use the exceptional Auterion Mission Planner, which is the brains of the operation when using DeltaQuad. This is a VLOS course only, although we have the ability to further expand on this into the BVLOS environment, provided the correct regulatory approvals are established. Observers Course

Our new 1-day Observers course is designed to expand your RPAS crewing capabilities and de-risk more complex operations through the provision of professionally qualified RPAS safety observers. Utilising proven aviation standards and procedures, our professional and
experienced instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of Crew Resource Management, crew communications, RPAS control and coordination and give you the practical experience you need to maximise the benefits of your RPAS for VLOS operations and beyond.

GVC to RPC-L1 Conversion

If you hold a valid GVC and want to convert to an RPC-L1 qualification in the same category of UAS, under the CAA you are exempt from conducting the theory elements of the course and may progress directly to the practical elements. Therefore, you simply need to book
onto either our conversion course or the practical days of a full RPC-L1 course (provided there is capacity to fit you in). This will provide you with the minimum of 2-hours flight instruction before you attempt the flight assessment. Proof of GVC validity will be required prior to conducting the training.

Bridging Course

This course is designed to qualify you in either Rotorcraft or Aeroplane, noting that you only need to conduct the practical aspects of the course, provided you have successfully passed the full Level 1 course in the other discipline.

(Please note this does not include conversion onto our DeltaQuad platform; that is a bespoke course in its own right).
