Expression of Interest – sUAS Training Instructor

Eagle Eye Innovations Ltd  is seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals interested in supporting the delivery and development of high-quality sUAS training programmes across various locations including Lincolnshire, the North East, South West and South Coast of England.
As we continue to expand our training capability, we are looking for individuals who can support the delivery and development of high-quality training programmes across a variety of operational environments. Whether your background is in flying operations, technical support, training delivery or assurance, we’d love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will help deliver a blend of:

  • Classroom instruction
  • Simulator and synthetic training
  • Practical flight training and mission-based exercises

You will contribute to the development of remote pilots, sensor operators and other UAS specialists, helping ensure they operate safely, effectively and in accordance with regulatory and operational requirements.

Not Already an Instructor?

That is not necessarily a problem.

We recognise that some of the best instructors start as experienced operators. If you have credible real-world UAS experience, strong technical knowledge and enjoy developing others, we are keen to hear from you. The ability to communicate, mentor and inspire confidence is every bit as important as formal instructional qualifications.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in individuals who can bring a combination of operational experience, technical credibility and a strong safety mindset. Successful applicants are likely to have experience in areas such as:

  • UAS operations and flight delivery
  • Training and instruction
  • Technical UAS systems and equipment
  • Training assurance, validation or quality management
  • Safety, airworthiness and regulatory compliance

You should also be comfortable working within established training frameworks and maintaining high professional standards at all times.

Essential Experience

To be considered, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Practical UAS operational experience and/or previous instructional experience
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence
  • Experience working within structured training or quality environments
  • A valid GVC and/or RPC-L1 Part A and Part B qualification
  • Experience conducting Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations

Desirable Experience

Applications from individuals with any of the following backgrounds are particularly welcomed:

  • Military or civilian flying training experience
  • Instructional qualifications
  • Experience developing training material, lesson plans and assessments
  • Knowledge of UK CAA regulations, SORA and associated authorisation processes
  • Experience supporting training assurance, validation or standardisation activities
  • Experience operating and instructing within complex BVLOS environments
  • Experience working in defence, aviation or other safety-critical sectors

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of elements of the roles, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.

How to Apply

When expressing your interest, we kindly ask that you attach a short cover letter alongside your CV. In your cover letter, please tell us:

  • Why you’re interested in this role
  • What excites you about working with our team
  • How your skills and experience make you a great fit
  • Please let us know your likely availability
This helps us get to know you beyond your CV and understand what motivates you to join us.

Why Join EEI?

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading UAS organisations and contribute directly to the growth of a professional training capability that supports industry, government and defence customers. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, influence the development of future operators and play a part in shaping the evolution of uncrewed aviation.

If this sounds like the next challenge for you, we would be delighted to hear from you
