RUSTA and Hex Horus collaborate to run first of a kind Security Course

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Last week RUSTA and Hex Horus teamed up to run the inaugural Drone Security and Surveillance course (D-SS) in Ballykelly Northern Ireland. The first of its kind nationally, the course comprises of a bespoke Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) element designed for private and public security companies.

Ryan McCready CEO of Hex Horus explains, “The combination of experience and expertise required to design and deliver the Drone Security & Surveillance course (D-SS), is evidently clear from our partnership with RUSTA.  As in our previous careers, we were both involved with the planning and execution of Military ISR and Close Air Support (CAS) operations; albeit Sion was the operator, above and myself as the Forward Air Controller (FAC) on the ground. Ballykelly is in need of an economic boost, it just so happens that Ballykelly provides both the infrastructure and a sustainable low carbon footprint by using local businesses who benefit from the course. There’s also great collaboration and coordination with the City of Derry Airport’s Air Traffic Operations and management teams.”

The course is broken down into two elements the first being the ground school which takes place in the classroom. It follows a syllabus that incorporates the standard RUSTA NQE syllabus for commercial operation plus an additional ISR basics phase that gets the trainee operators thinking, not only about flying the aircraft but fighting it as well. The second phase puts the theory into practise and combines a full-scale exercise which includes a command and control element via the unique Strax software.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space alter_height=”medium” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”4570,4571,4572,4573″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space alter_height=”medium” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]RUSTA and Hex Horus teamed up after meeting at the Security and Policing exhibition in Farnborough earlier this year. “RUSTA had been looking for a suitable partner that had the security expertise, capability and experience needed and Hex Horus ticked all the boxes” explains Sion Roberts MD of RUSTA, “Both companies have military backgrounds with RUSTA’s team comprising of Ex Royal Air Force and Army Air Corps Aircrew and Hex Horus’s coming from a Ground Forces perspective. It’s a great fit and we work well together to provide the best product available.”

The course will initially be running monthly over five days with the first courses already being filled. “It’s an ideal course for security personal who want to add this exciting new capability to their personal portfolios. Drones are a huge force enabler in this industry but without the ability to operate them safely and effectively they may as well stay in their box” adds Ryan, “the interest already is staggering across a broad spectrum, from service leavers to maritime security professionals.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space alter_height=”medium” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space alter_height=”medium” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you are interested in knowing more about the course, then please email or call 0800 774 7347[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space alter_height=”medium” hide_on_desktop=”” hide_on_notebook=”” hide_on_tablet=”” hide_on_mobile=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]
